Paper Towel/Cotton Ball Method

Diluted Hydrogen Peroxide Solution Method

  • Instructions
    1. Prepare soil(if starting in pots use potting soil(if not use gardening soil))
    2. Gather seeds and labels
    3. Plant the seeds the correct depth in the soil
    4. Water soil and 2 weeks after sprouting start to feed weekly or as instructed
  • Benefits
    • Seeds germinate faster then they do in soil (can be days to weeks faster then seeds germinating in soil)
    • Helps planter know which seeds are viable and as a result they waste less soil and space
  • Instructions for Towel Method
    1. Take a piece of paper towel off of the roll and fold the paper towel in half . 
    2. Place your seeds on half the paper towel fold the other half on top of the seeds. 
    3. Spray the paper towel until it is damp and then put it into a ziploc bag.
    4. Place it in a warm sunny place.
    5. After two to three days the seeds sprout (some can take up to a week and some seeds don't sprout)
    6. Plant in soil once it sprouts (don't wait for leaves to sprout
  • Instructions for Cotton Ball Method
    1. Follow steps 1-6 from the paper towel method yet instead use cotton balls.
  • Benefits

    1. Put a cap pull of hydrogen peroxide into a water bottle.
    2. Put seeds into a ontainer and then pour the diluted hydrogen peroxide solution on them
    3. Plant the seeds once they sprout
